Our Mission

What that Means at Fishweir

We believe strong schools are built through strong relationships. Our PTA works to bring families, teachers, staff, and community partners together to support the whole child and strengthen the Fishweir community. 

We strengthen families.
By creating opportunities for connection, communication, and meaningful family engagement.

What support teachers and staff.
By providing resources, appreciation, classroom support, and partnership.

We enrich students.
By supporting programs, experiences, and opportunities that help every child learn, create, grow, and thrive. 

We advocate.
By helping families understand their voice matters and by supporting the needs of children within our school and broader community. 

Florida PTA identifies six official purposes. I would display them as concise cards rather than long paragraphs:

• Promote Child Well-Being — Support the welfare of children and youth at home, at school, and throughout the community.

• Strengthen Families — Help raise the standards of home and family life.

• Advocate for Children — Support laws and policies that improve education, health, welfare, and safety.

• Build Family–School Partnerships — Encourage collaboration and engagement between families and educators.

• Support the Whole Child — Unite the community around children’s physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being.

• Promote Responsible Stewardship — Advocate for fiscal responsibility in public education funding.

How We Put Those Values Into Action

At Fishweir, that means working transparently, welcoming different perspectives, following through on our commitments, respecting the contributions of every family and staff member, and using PTA resources responsibly.
